It is an interactive parent-child time with fun activities designed to promote early literacy, language development and a love of books for 0 to 2 years old. During Toddler Story-time, a librarian reads aloud and leads adult-child pairs in activities. Toddler Story-time also supports early literacy by building vocabulary and sharing age-appropriate literature in an atmosphere of fun, engaging activity.

The Key West Library is offering a free 8-week Short Story Workshop titled “Writing on the Autograph Tree,” led by author Edgardo Alvarado-Vazquez (The Funerals of Key West and Don’t Read This Poetry Book). Participants will meet every Wednesday, June 7th through July 26th, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm to discuss and work on their short story. All participants must be 18 years old or older and must present a copy of an original writing before the first session. For more information or to reserve your seat, call 305-292-3595. Preschool Story-time every Friday at 11:00 Preschool Story-time is a fun early literacy program for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Siblings are welcome! Join us for an hour of interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
