KEY WEST, FL – American Airlines will continue nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Key West International Airport later this year.
The seasonal service began as a weekly flight June 9, 2018 was scheduled to conclude August 18.
Due to the route’s strong performance, American Airlines will resume nonstop daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth on Dec. 24, 2018. The service will run through April 1, 2019 and be operated by an E-175 aircraft with seating for 76 passengers.
“We are very impressed with the performance we have seen with this new route over the summer and are happy this service will continue as a daily flight during the winter and spring seasons,” Monroe County Acting Director of Airports T.J. Henderson said. “American’s route to Dallas/Ft. Worth greatly increases our connectivity to the Midwest and West Coast.”
Henderson, Key West Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President Virginia Panico and Michael Lum of Volaire Aviation, Inc., the Airport’s air service development consultant, met with American Airlines representatives last week at their headquarters in Ft. Worth, TX to discuss the continuation of this route.
Key West International Airport is owned and operated by Monroe County.
