KEY WEST, FL – The Monroe County Veterans Affairs Department recently presented World War II Army veteran Jack Hamilton with a monetary donation to help with the purchase of special orthotic shoes.

This donation is in coordination with Abe Conn, Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3911 in Key West.

Hamilton, who served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe during World War II, will soon celebrate his 103rd birthday.

It is an honor whenever we can help our veterans, especially those veterans of “The Greatest Generation,” said James Carey, Executive Administrator of Monroe County Veterans Affairs.
