[ARCHIVED] Special Hurricane Irene Bulletin

The National Hurricane Center’s Tuesday 5 a.m. Irene tracking map takes all of the Florida Keys, Miami and Fort Lauderdale out of the forecast error track cone. The eastern edge of Florida coastline above Fort Lauderdale remains in the cone as does portions of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.

Monroe County Emergency Management officials continue to advise residents and visitors to continue monitoring the storm in the event of a change in forecast track.

Irene is forecast to become a major hurricane Wednesday morning over the central Bahamas.

A full TDC advisory is to be transmitted prior to noon today.
