BUSINESS OCCUPANCY LOAD ASSISTANCE BY MONROE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE FIRE MARSHAL

Monroe County Fire Rescue and the Fire Marshal would like to help with the reopening of Florida Keys businesses that may need assistance in determining their new “Occupancy Load,” under Governor Ron DeSantis’ Executive Order 20-112.

The Governor’s Executive Order allows retail and restaurant establishments to reopen, however the order mandates that the number of customers in the establishment shall not exceed 25 percent of their occupancy load at any point in time. Many commercial establishments have posted occupancy load signage in place, while others may require assistance in calculating their occupancy level to remain compliant with the Order. In the event assistance is needed in determining occupancy levels, please contact the Fire Marshal’s office at 305-289-6020.

"Monroe County Fire Rescue and the Office of the Fire Marshal are dedicated to your safety and the decrease of the COVID-19 spread," said RL Colina, Monroe County Fire Rescue Fire Marshal. "Our continued goals will be to ensure life safety, ensure safe business environments, and provide risk reduction assistance to business and building owners, employees, and their customers."
