DRC at Big Pine Key Opens-2.jpg

Disaster Recovery Center

This morning, FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center at Monroe County’s Big Pine Community Park, 31009 Atlantis Drive. The hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until further notice.

Disaster Recovery Centers offer in-person support to individuals and small businesses. Recovery specialists from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and the State are available to provide assistance to anyone with filling out applications or updating their status.

The registration process is the first step in recovery and requires information such as insurance policies, and bank information for possible direct transfer of funds. Survivors are encouraged to register before visiting a DRC.

If you have phone and/or internet access, you may register in one of the following ways:

·        Online at DisasterAssistance.gov.

·        Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 for voice, 711 and Video Relay Service (VRS). If you are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability and use a TTY, call 800-462-7585. Information on the registration process is available in ASL at: fema.gov/medialibrary/assets/videos/111546.

·        Help is available in Spanish

·        Download the FEMA Mobile App and apply.

Mobile Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams

These mobile teams carry iPads and can register survivors for FEMA assistance for the first time at their doorstep. They have limited ability to help people update their accounts. Please Note: Mobile teams will wear FEMA vests, have proper identification and never ask for money.

Mobile disaster survivor assistance teams are canvassing neighborhoods in southern Marathon today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to register survivors for FEMA assistance.

Mobile Disaster Survivor Assistance teams are canvassing neighborhoods in Big Pine Key, east of National Key Deer Refuge heading south, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

Mobile Registration Intake Centers

These centers allow people to register for FEMA assistance for the first time. These locations have limited ability to help people update their accounts.

A Mobile Registration Intake Center is located at Marathon City Park, 3911 Overseas Highway, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

A Mobile Registration Intake Center is located at Fire Station 32, 616 Simonton St., in Key West, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
