The library will be holding a Nintendo DS tournament for the new game Pokémon Sun & Moon!
Participants in the DS tournament will receive a random Pikachu figurine for entering. The grand prize winner will receive a set of gym badges from the Kanto region!
For those without a Nintendo DS we will have:
• Pokémon Trading Card Game at designated tables
• Pokémon video games on the Wii and Wii U
• Pokémon Go lures during the entire event

Preschool Story-time every Friday at 11:00
Preschool Story-time is a fun early literacy program for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Siblings are welcome!
Join us for an hour of interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
For parents and caregivers, Story-time offers an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, to discover great books, music, and to socialize with other parents after Story-time

The Key West Library needlework group meets at 3 p.m. every Saturday in the Library Conference Room. It’s a gathering of people who knit, needlepoint, embroider or generally do any form of needlework. The library has lots of resources available for the beginner and advanced needlework enthusiast alike. And don’t worry, members of the group are generous with their advice and support. If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of the library staff members. We are always happy to help any way we can!

What is there for teens on this small island of ours? Teen time at the library! Every Saturday afternoon, the Key West Library turns its attention to Teen Time. Yeah sounds lame but it’s fun. It’s a film club, book club, gaming club and craft club all rolled up into one. We use this time to relax, unwind, play games, and just have a great time with friends

This movie received critical acclaim upon its release and was regarded as among the best films of 2016. Critics praised in particular Affleck's performance, as well as Lonergan's direction and screenplay. At the 89th Academy Awards, the film received six nominations: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Affleck), Best Supporting Actor (Hedges), Best Supporting Actress (Williams) and Best Original Screenplay, winning for Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor. It also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor and was nominated in four more categories.

It is an interactive parent-child time with fun activities designed to promote early literacy, language development and a love of books for 0 to 2 years old.
During Toddler Story-time, a librarian reads aloud and leads adult-child pairs in activities. Toddler Story-time also supports early literacy by building vocabulary and sharing age-appropriate literature in an atmosphere of fun, engaging activity.

Our final selection for March Cinematheque will be shown on the large screen in the Community Room tonight at 6 p.m.: "Good Night, and Good Luck." The 2005 film was directed by George Clooney and falls into our "Commies!" theme for the month. The story follows CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow (David Strathairn) as he reports on Senator Joe McCarthy's crusade to find Communist sympathizers within the government. Come join us for the show, have some popcorn and participate in the thoughtful discussion afterward.
