Children up to age 12 are exploring all things science and conservation during Marathon Public Library’s 2017 “Build a Better World” summer reading program, which runs through August 12. At 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, we will have a special guest speaker: Rachel Bowman, lionfish hunter. She will share her thoughts on the theme "Build a Better World." Please come! The 2017 summer reading program reminds young people of the pleasure of reading, keeps their minds active, and helps them enter school in the fall ready to learn and succeed. All programs are free of charge, and children of all abilities are welcome. For more information, call Melody Dodamead at 305-743-5156.

Marathon Branch is offering “The Relaxing Art of Coloring” for adults. We will provide coloring books and pencils and a quiet space for you to focus on the pages. Research suggests that coloring provides the same therapeutic benefits as meditation. We welcome you to join us, zone in on your art and enjoy the relaxation every Tuesday at 3 p.m.
